Oktava Mic's

The 319 is an OK sounding mic, I have used it on guitar cabinets. Not sure about drums, although some guy posted on the RMMP newsgroup using this mic inside a kic drum. Guitar tends to get good and bad sounding versions of this mic, the guy who runs the oktava website gets sweeter sounding mics. For the price they do a good job, don't it's going to replace a Shure or AKG though.

Anyone ever used Oktava condenser microphone? Guitar Center regularly sells these for around $100 - $150 (list is about $500 - $600, depending upon the model). One of the sales guys kept raving about how great these sounded...better than Shure, AKG, yadda yadda yadda, but I wonder if they have an incentive to push this brand.

I'm curious as to how good these actually sound compared to Shure, AKG, Rode, etc., and if the craftsmanship is any good. It sure seems like a great price, but I'm afraid of "getting what I pay for."
